YOUR HELP AND ADVICE NEEDED LOOKING FOR A MINI.

by Simon
(Hove, UK)

Hello All,
I have been looking to either rehome or rescue a miniature schnauzer for many weeks now with no success. I have also been looking at the possibility of buying a dog/bitch but can only find puppies available for sale. I would greatly appreciate any information on where I might find a miniature schnauzer to buy that is not a puppy.

1 year and upwards would be ideal but I am very flexible on this.

Thank you in advance for any help

Regards,

Simon.

NOTE FROM LINDA AND MAX:
Hi Simon, they are not so easy to come by.
If you look on our UK Schnauzer rescue page, there has been a recent contribution about ex-breeding females, that may be something to consider.
Otherwise, keep looking here and check with the schnauzer rescue centres, unless you are lucky enough to find one locally.
Good Luck.

Hi Jennifer
Thank you for contacting me regarding your schnauzer with a view to rehoming him. Usually I would have dropped everything to come and see you but, as of today, I am now the proud owner of a dog I have rehomed.
Thank you and also thank you to Michele for thinking of me. I feel like I have much to learn but I would also like to wish you the best of luck in finding a new home.
Signing off.
Simon.

HI SIMON, That'a great news, can you tell us about your new Schnauzer - or post a picture,
Best wishes together, Linda and Max

How very very sad..
by: Michele

This is a very sad story .. at 13 months he has bonded with you and your family.. Are you very sure you need to find him a new FOREVER HOME.. as he will be very sad at having to be re-homed after having been with you since puppyhood.. Were you not sure he'd fit in, when you bought him, or were the reasons for wanting to find him a New Forever Home more serious...
Anyway I hope you find a PERFECT FOREVER HOME for him, very soon... please be sure to make sure that the new home he is going to that he is not left alone with a Family that go out to work all day... Schnauzers are Family dogs and need company..

by: Michele

I shall try, Simon, if I can find the post for Oscar
By the way where do you live, as I have two
boys.. Rebel & BENJI .. Not for re-homing
as I love them to bits. If you live not to far away
maybe you can come visit.

by: Simon

Thank you michele for your helpful comment and for taking the time to let me know. I have already e-mailed oscar's owners asking to be considered as his forever new home and I am waiting with baited breath for a response.
I am going to keep everything crossed and hope that I may, finally, be lucky enough to have found my new best friend.
Unfortunately there are several other interested parties so I shall have to wait to hear from Oscar's owner.
Wish me luck!
Thank you,
Simon.

Look at 6 month old Oscar
by: Michele

Simon, I see there is a schnauzer puppy at 6 months
old needing a new home. I know you said
you are looking for one of 1 year or over.
Does it really matter if you get a puppy. That
way you can teach him your way.. Hope
you find one real soon..

Mini dogs/bitches
by: Simon

Dear Izzy and Linda,

Thank you both for taking the time to reply. It is very much appreciated. There was a lovely bitch in my hometown available earlier last month but the owners decided to do their best to keep her and a lovely couple of boys who are being rehomed together. This is good news though because on both occasions it was the best thing for the dogs.
I have tried nomoretears ex breeding dogs but their policy is to rehome where there is already another dog (w hitch I don't have).
I will keep looking and certainly chase up the dogs you have mentioned.
Thanks again and if you hear of anything please keep me posted.

Regards,

Simon.
