by Millie
(Nottingham)

Retired lady is seeking to rehome/rescue an adult Mini Schnauzer after losing her 9yr old mini to cancer (an ex breeding bitch rehomed from a breeder) as life is empty without a Schnauzer. Over 20yrs breed experience having owned 3 minis. Quiet yet still active home. Happy to purchase a retired breeding dog or adopt a rescue. Live Nottinghamshire but prepared to travel for the right dog. Mobile 07484 102271.

Looking for new home for my mini , Bertie
by: Anonymous

I may be looking to rehome my mini schnauzer Bertie in a few weeks. He is a lovely, intelligent dog, 6 yrs old this May 25th. He is extremely well behaved in some respects but he is used to being with me 24/7 so will need a home where he will have constant attention/company. He is ok with most dogs but doesn't like young males or puppies he barks at them. He is extremely clever and will do anything for a treat. You can teach him any trick really quickly. His best trick is that he can tidy up all his toys - he puts them in his toy basket.

Thankyou again Linda

So sorry to hear about your friend getting scammed Linda. It really is very hard to know who to trust. Thankyou so much for the warning. Mum is patient so we will be careful and wait for the right furbaby to come along.

good luck!

Hi Millie,
Yes be very careful if you get a Schnauzer online. A friend of mine was scammed out of £350 deposit only last week.
If you can wait, good breeders are starting their lists again, and there will also be Schnauzers coming into rescue.
Best of British,
Linda

Sorry for your loss
by: Linda

Dear Millie,
We don't have Schnauzers to rehome ourselves, we put people who have one to rehome in touch with those offering a new home. Hopefully somebody in your area will contact you if they are looking for a new home for their Schnauzer,
Since Coronavirus, we are not getting Schnauzers that need rehoming as a lot of people are at home and have time for their dogs. However, the situation is slowly changing and dogs have started coming into rescue centres or are being advertised online when owners no longer have the time or money to keep them. If you do buy online, please check everything very carefully, there are a lot of scams.
You can try The Miniature Schnauzer Club Re-Home and Rescue Trust - contact Caroline Wareing on 01242 696 768.
Or Schnauzer Houzer on Facebook, who do a great job of rehoming Schnauzers of all sizes and are usually looking for potential adopters.
And the co-ordinator for Northern Schnauzer Rescue is Pamela Ciceri (based in North Yorkshire) Pamela.ciceri@btinternet.com They also help to rehome Schnauzers.
Good luck!
Linda
