looking to rehome Giant Schnauzer KC-MO area

Following is her description. Please EMAIL luv4shelterdogs@yahoo.com if interested or have additional questions. Thanks!
I DID NOT WANT TO DO THIS! :( I have a dog. Her name is Percy ♥ she is approx 6 years old and healthy as a horse. She is a Giant Schnauzer weighing in at 85 lbs .She is protective of women. She loves anyone who will give her attn. BUT she doesn't particularly care for men if they are walking through the house- she's ok outside with them because she has more room to back up if she's scared. (She hasn't ever bitten or attacked anyone- I don't believe it's like that at all for her lol) AND she's even better with them if they are laying in bed and she can snuggle with them lol she snores, btw... Percy has been probably used to throw a couple litters of pups and then put in a pen or on a chain and not given any attention- and this princess needs companionship like she needs air. She is great in the house if you are with her. If you leave to go to work she prefers to be outside. She lays on the porch in front of the door and awaits your return :) She is NOT aggressive with other animals but she will try to get the attention first. She would like to be in charge all the time, though she is a princess, she needs to know who the Queen of the house is -much like ANY Schnauzer:)SO this is what Percy needs- A single woman - OR a woman who doesn't prefer men. She is fine with cats, she couldn't care less about them. She needs someone who will think she is as important to them as they are to her. She views her person as her "job". And sometimes she thinks her "job" is to sit on you when u sit down in a chair- she doesn't know she's not small... But she CAN fly- we found out. She just gets up on her twinkle toes and will leap over -having no trouble clearing- a standard size fence:)She is Spayed, fully vetted (current) and she is the quirkiest, funniest, most lovable snuggler I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. She makes her way into everyone's heart by loving THEM first. I know, "If she's so great, then why don't you keep her?" The answer to that is- There is a better place for her than here. Percy has spent the majority of her life being what ppl need HER to be for them. Now, she needs someone to be what she needs them to be for HER! AND I have a husband (note: the comment about men above- again she is fine outside with them if the woman of the house isn't around. But If I am around, she will put herself btwn me and my husband at all time) Of course, I can't be mad because she loves me ;) But the point is- She is nervous and she will get anxiety- which means she isn't COMPLETELYcomfortable and at ease- AND SHE DESERVES TO BE!!! She came to me shaggy (still adorable) and since she has been groomed. She is excellent for the groomer, btw. She's beautiful. She loves going with u in the car and is perfect behavior on a leash. SHe knows her commands. Sit, stay, lay down, up, down and "Percy,No" We had to work on them, but she's got them :) I will not give her to JUST anybody. If you have any questions about her and you feel like you might be perfect for Percy- then by all means- inbox me. She will not be passed around from house to house. When she leaves here she will go to her HOME that is in her nature to defend (dont get me wrong, she isn't going to act like the guard dogs on movies lmao). Dogs like her were originally bred for protection- please keep in mind. I know I'm not sugar coating anything- Understand that I have her every interest at heart and it doesn't bebefit her, at all, if I dont give the info straight. Please note- She IS not going to change about Men-It's not MY man, it's all of them- i promise so Don't try. She is fine at first (of course there is a honeymoon period) AND having said all of this, I have neighbor girls that come over and three kids of my own. Kids aren't the issue. She is ascared of all men bigger than her and she is an attention seeker- She NEEDS It- that's it! Let me know if u would like to meet her. I promise- this is for certain- You will fall in Love immediately!

Percy

Thank you, but she was a rescue, not owned for 6 yrs by the same person. She is absolutely terrified of men so keeping her in a home that includes a husband and sons isn't fair to her. Everything has been done to rehab her, to help her gain the trust of men, no one is even exactly sure what triggers it. I am very happy that she was able to go to a rescue where she is safe, happy and not afraid. She will only be placed in a woman only home because she has displayed the same male aggression while with the rescue. Her perfect place will come :-)

I could take her but ..... she is only yours!
If you do not understand something about her behavior you will find any help at www.cesarsway.com he will show you how to make the best dog ever!!!!!
No one will be better for her then you are ! 6 years to have a dog is a lot of time and your heart could be broken too when she will be gone to new owners. Now she is about to be come more mature it is going to be better, less work, the worse is over and you be able to rest a bit, sorry to say that but sometimes we do not know what we realy can be missing and your description is showing that you have full heart of love for her so how is going to be without her?!!
