Just lost our schnauzer - home offered in Yorkshire 18.01.17

by Brian Ashton
(Yorkshire)

Hi, my name is Brian and my wife and myself have just lost our miniature schnauzer Charlie who was 15 years old. It as been a big loss to us and are not over it yet, Charlie was blind and diabetic but it didn't bother him at all and we went walking three times a day till he got ill this last month. He died on Friday the 13th of January.
As I said he is missed a lot and so if I can adopt another it would help I think but honestly not fully sure. You can see a picture of him on my Facebook page.If you have a rescue or a puppy you can contact me at:
no1 bigbri@aol.com.
Thanks

Go for it
by: Daniel

Hi, I'm so sorry about your loss and know very well the void it leaves. I lost my beloved Scottie Max at 11yr2months on 18 Dec 2016. I didn't have time to prepare as he died very suddenly. In shock for a month continuously, I stumbled upon an adoption website and after much initial agonising and worrying, I am now the proud owner of a Schnauzer rescue dog. Amazingly she has started to heal my emotional wounds. No dog can ever be replaced when they're gone, but a new furry friend can definitely help you move on. I thought I'd rather wait at least a year but for me, getting Grace only 1 month after Max died, has helped tremendously. Good luck with whatever you decide to do next and hope you find a wonderful new dog to love.

rescue sites

Hi sorry to hear about Charlie, 15 good age. My two are 4 and 7 and one has diabetes but fine. I hope both live to good ages. If you help with a rescue mini then try your local rescue centres but I know many tears rescue centre has many minis passing through their care www.manytearsrescue.org though many need a resident dog for them to adjust with, also this dog rescue www.dbarc.org.uk also have minis and have just taken in two shocking cases of neglect from puppy farm breeders. You can also look on the website preloved (we rehomed our 2nd mini via there) good luck in your search

So sorry to hear of Charlie's passing. But 15 is a great age and still going for 3 walks a day. Sounds like he had an idyllic life with you, hopefullty somebody will contact you if they have a dog to rehome.
Good luck.
