6-y-o Tilly needs a new home, Bucks 8th Jan'25

by Becky
(Bourne End. Buckinghamshire)

I have a 6 year old female mini schnauzer. She is salt and pepper and has been neutered
I have had tilly since she was 8 weeks old. She is kennel club registered. Tilly has no medical issues.

Tilly has lived with other dogs and a cat. She is very good off lead and has excellent recall. Her issues are barking a lot and she has anxiety. She is not good at being left alone.

My mother has recently had surgery which has resulted in me now visiting her daily. I have found I have very little time for her - she is not getting walks and the attention she needs.

Sadly I have made the decision to try and find her another family. Can you help

I know someone who owns a Schnauzer and has owned another one before that and would love to own another one if you still need to rehome yours

Fostering
by: Kathy

Hi Becky
sorry to hear you are thinking of rehoming due to the pressure you are under. Have you thought of placing Tilly with someone who would foster her until you are in a position to take her back.
Just before Christmas we lost Sophie and our dog Georgie is very sad. I came across your post as I feel I could offer help by taking her in until you were ready.
This would be good for Georgie as she is really missing Sophie, but I am not ready to to replace Sophie but would be happy to foster.
Hope this helps with your dilemma

support for your mum
by: Izzy

Sorry to hear of your situation. What does your mum want for her dog? If it was me I would try and keep her with your mum to aid her recovery. to do this you could ask a local dog walker to come in or dog care or someone mentioned the cinnamon trust, I am a volunteer with them and help walk dogs so they can stay with their owners during a period (might be longer term- one of mine if over a year)when they can't do their normal care. They might also foster so your mum can have her back. all the best to your mum www.cinnamon.org.uk

Hi Becky,
YES we can help, but we need your email address.

Very sorry to hear of your mother's illness.
Tilly looks beautiful, it must be a difficult decision, but it sounds like it is the best for Tilly.
Please contact Pamela Ciceri of Schnauzer Rescue, Pamela is brilliant at finding new homes for Schnauzers.
EMAIL: pamela.ciceri@btinternet.com
We also have many experienced Schnauzer owners looking to rehome a Mini and perhaps one of these will contact you and provide a wonderful new forever home for Tilly.
PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT WITH YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS, WE HAVE NO MEANS OF CONTACTING YOU.

Very best wishes,
Linda
