11 year old Mini Schnauzer needing rehoming due to illness, 30th Jan 24

by Laura H
(Preston, Lancashire)

I am having to make the difficult decision to rehome my Mini schnauzer Stanley. I have MS and can't give him the time and walks he requires anymore. He is unfortunately reactive on the lead towards other dogs due to not being socialised enough anymore.
He is allergic to most foods other than Salmon and venison so is on a salmon and potato diet.
He is used to living with teenagers and cats.
We are located in Preston, Lancashire

If this little one is still looking for a forever home I would be happy to be considered. I lost my mini 2 years ago - he was 18!
Please let me know if I can be considered

the cinnamon trust
by: Izzy

Hello sorry to hear of your situation- you could try the cinnamon trust who could provide volunteeers to help with walks. They are a national charity 01736 757900

or contact a local rescue who could help so the home checks would be done and he would be supported longer term

all the best (I have 3 so can't take anymore!)

Mini Schnauzer in Preston
by: Brian

I live near Stratford upon Avon, just wish I was nearer. I lost my Mini Schnauzer last year. I am currently fostering for the Dogs Trust but would love an elderly Schnauzer.

Stanley
by: Sandra

Stanley looks lovely and the sort of person that I am looking to give a home to but unfortunately Lancashire is too far away for me to get to meet him as I am in Surrey.

I am sure that you will get many offers and find that you will find a lovely place for him

Very sorry to hear of your illness
by: Linda

Dear Laura,
so very sorry to hear of your illness. What a very difficult decision to have to make. He looks lovely, bless him.
Hopefully somebody on our website will be able to offer him a happy home where he can see his remaining years out.
I also strongly suggest that you contact Pamela Ciceri, Northern Schnauzer Rescue, Pamela.ciceri@btinternet.com They help to rehome Schnauzers.
also, please add a comment with your email address so people can contact you.
Good luck to you and your little chap,
Linda
