why does my schnauzer look sad and depressed?

I barely got a 3 year old schnauzer, at home he's just there, he sleeps and follows me around the house, but he won't bark or play with me. He starts shaking when other people get close to him.
what can I do to make him happier?

Schnauzer love
by: Anonymous

I have a now 4 yr old schnauzer I rescued last year and he is the same way! Ive had him for a year and a half and he still acts that way at times but he is getting better! Its a slow process! You just need to give him lots of love and attention and let him know he can trust you...it takes time so be patient and watch him come out of his shell! Good luck!

Sad Schnauzer..
by: Michele

Your 3 year old Schnauzer.. is he a Rescue, as this could be a reason for his depression. Are you at work, and is he left alone ? Schnauzers are very intelligent and they think like a human and have feelings.. give him plenty of cuddles and love.. my Rebel in also 3 and always on the go playing with balls and toys..and barks too, sometimes when he should and other times when he wants to.. !!... Have him to the vet as there may be something wrong... hope he's OK..
