What is wrong with my Schnauzer?

My dog is 8 years old and in the last 6 weeks has begun urinating in the house at night, drinking excessively and some weight loss -originally 25 pounds and now is 21 pounds.

could be diabetes

I would have him checked for diabetes ASAP! My mini was urinating a lot and my vet thought he had diabetes/addison's or cushing's disease but it was ruled out. I hope he doesnt have it BUT if he does all are manageable! Good luck!

Your schnauzer may have a kidney problem.. as he drinks excessively.. or diabetes... you MUST take him to the vet for a urine & blood test, as this will determine what's wrong.. is there blood in his urine..is he eating..Hope he'll be better soon..
