Tail docking - is it too late?

I bought a puppy a few weeks ago... she just turned 9 weeks...is it too late to get her tail docked? The previous owner did not take care of her very well... and we have nursed her back to health.
We really want her tail docked and was wondering if it is too late?

Tail docking is common in America but not in Europe. I think it may even be illegal in Europe. Schnauzer's are great dogs and look cute with or without docked tails. Many people don't dock their tails for humane reasons. Maybe you could think about leaving the tail and skipping the pain.
