Schnoodle suffering after trim

My 4 year old Schnoodle had his hair trimmed today and ever since he keeps licking the inside of his back legs and around his penis.
He moves as if something is biting him yet I cannot find any cuts, nicks or signs of ticks. Up until today he was full of energy. He has not eaten today but has had a little water. He has a cold nose.
For the first time he did not want to go out for a walk, just lay on the couch and looked at me. His behaviour is so different from yesterday. He goes for walks in the same neighbourhood and an off road pathway where other dogs also walk.
I have never had any problems with sickness before with my dog.
Any suggestions?
