Schnoodle flea treatment

by Emma
(New Zealand )

Hi :) I have an 18 month old schnoodle whose fur is soft but like velcro! Everything sticks to him. After a walk he comes home with all manner of buds, seeds, sticks etc stuck in his fur haha! My issue is not the things sticking to him but the fact that a normal flea treatment like frontline, advantix etc (Which works perfectly on my BC) doesn't seem to travel/penetrate his fur! I've also tried a vinegar/water natural bath mix which didnt work at all either. Does anyone have a suggestion that they have tried that actually worked?? Thanks heaps!

Flea Treatment that works..
by: Michele ( Benji, Rebel & Rambo

Hi there .. You say everything sticks to your schnauzer's soft fur.. if his fur is quite long, then I suggest you have him clipped, with the clippers going with the grain of his coat, not against it otherwise he'll look BALD.. this should eliminate your sticking problem.. For my boys.. I use a really excellent Flea Treatment.. FRONTLINE COMBO.. it keeps fleas, ticks and some worms away.. Also there is a product that I used to use called ADVOCATE as this eliminates Fleas & Lungworm, but NOT Ticks, so this is why I changed to Frontline Combo.. Ordinary Frontline is completely useless.... here in my area ( UK ) I have no problem with Lungworm.. I don't let my boys off lead, their Flexi Leads are 26 feet long… Hope this helps, but please take advice from Linda and Max, on the other Flea treatment.. That product can be dangerous.. Lets's know how things go..
Frontline Combo can only be bought from your vet .. on Prescription..

sorry, don't know
by: Linda and Max

Sorry, I've not heard of that before.
But if they sell Trifexis in New Zealand, DON'T use it, lots of reports of side effects.
Are there any flea shampoo treatments that you could massage into his coat?
PS He's a real cutie
