Schnoodle backing into rooms - why?

Why has my 7 year old schnoodle started turning around and backing into rooms?

NOTE FROM LINDA AND MAX: That is a strange one. Maybe one of our readers can shed some light on it?
We went through a phase with Max recently where he kept running off and hiding in bushes in the garden - the vet said it was behavioural, not medical, and he doesn't do it any more. don't know if that helps?
If he's physically OK it sounds like it is behavioural - has anything changed in your household?

Backing into rooms
by: Toni

My Mini-Schnauzer broke her cruciate ligament when she was 5 months old and had to have a cast for a month. Because she kept slipping on our laminate floors she developed a fear of slippery surfaces, and even though she is 3.5 years old, when she realizes she is on a slippery surface, she will back out of the room instead of going forward and making a turn. Maybe your dog recently slipped and is reacting to the fall as my dog has. I don't think my dog will ever get over this. When she "forgets herself" she will trot across the floor without thinking, but as soon as she realizes she is on a slippery surface, she balks and backs out, or refuses to budge.
