schnauzer insurance

Can anyone recommend a good insurers as I have not a clue! When I think I have found a good company, I find reviews about how bad they are. I know there's no such thing as a perfect company that will pay out for everything, but I'd at least like to know they pay out for common things with Mini Schnauzers, and Heaven forbid, long term illnesses, etc. HELP!!

I live in the U.S. and have pet insurance for my mini-Schnauzer. I pay $16 a month for emergencies and accidents only (can't afford the higher insurance). Here in the U.S. we have a consumer website you can check.
