Pancreatitis

My 8 month old schnauzer, Crash just diagnosed with pancreatitis and has been off her food (nature diet/canagan) for a while now. I've been giving her chicken & veg, but now it's been suggested she eat Chappie.(Vet).. I have no idea if this is going to be hit with her, but I'm not a fan of all the cereal in the ingredients. We would appreciate any feedback regarding your experiences/tried&tested feeding etc. Thank you in advance.

Thank you for the update, great news for Crash and useful for other owners to know. Raw diet is becoming increasingly popular.

Pancreatitis no more
by: Tara

Hi, just an update; Crash has been on a raw food diet for almost 1 month. Eating has never been such an enjoyment for her and no more bouts of pancreatitis. We buy her lean raw food from Honey's. (UK).

Pancreatitis

So sorry to hear that Crash has pancreatitis. It can be managed with the right care and diet. I am surprised the vet said Chappie as it is a cheap food, did he or she say why? Fatty foods have to be avoided and a bland food is best, maybe this is why. I would try it.
There I s some advice here for schnauzers with pancreatitis, but remember that every dog is different.
Good luck to Crash, let us know how you get on.
