Painful back area

by Sally Williams
(South Wales, UK)

Have recently taken our nine year old Skye to the vet because she was depressed and constantly turning to her back area and whimpering in pain. Vet expressed her anal gland and said she most likely has an infection - five days into antibiotics no real easing of the problem returned Skye was examined by another vet who said it was arthritus so massive pain killers and milder pain killers these have not worked and she is even more distressed, but she runs around and enjoys her walks it is only when she tries to relax or go to sleep - do not have much confidence in the vet and ideas
