Not finishing her food

Hello:) I have a 5 month old schnoodle and she has not been finishing up ALL her food. But she is still energetic and loves to play. Should I be worried? Or take her to the vet? Please suggest! Thank you!:)

Yes, some dogs are, but if she's not finishing her food, the first thing to try is limiting meal times to encourage her to eat it when it's down.

She might be a grazer! our 10 year old schnauzer came to us 6 years ago and until quite recently ate his food when he felt like it - still does occasionally. I remember being woken up when we were on holiday, he was eating his meal in the bathroom of our hotel room at about 3am!

If you are not doing it already, feed her twice a day. Put her food down and each time take it up after 20 minutes whether she has eaten it or not. Don't give her lots of treats in between.
If she';s still not eating it all after 2 or 3 days, try mixing each feed with a little warm gravy.
If she is lively and not losing weight, that's fine. If the food is down all the time, they can get bored with it.
