CoCo - Little Muppet !

CoCo is a mixed between Poodle and Schnauzer (Schnoodle) He is chocolate brown with a patch of white under his neck. I acquired CoCo on Valentines Day for my Girlfriend. He is so cool. He is 1 year old, house broken, but will release if he's not attended to periodically. He has a problem with wet and well as dry food. He wont eat,if he does its a small amount. So im asking anyone who has experience for advice. By the way he had his first Schnauzer cut today. Handsome Rascal.
NOTE FROM LINDA AND MAX:
Hi Joseph, he's a very handsome chap!
Sorry to hear about his food problems - try gentle foods like cooked chicken (no bones) and rice in the morning. Important - remove the food after around 15 minutes if he has not eaten and then don't give him any treats or anything else to eat all day.
Tery him with another gently meal in the evenig. Remove it if he does not eat it. Try this for a couple of days - he should eat when he gets hungry -and a day or so without food will not harm him.
You could also try a raw diet - but you need to know a lot about it and be very rigorous, so I'd try this first.

My Man Coco
by: Toni

You just got him on Valentine's Day? That was only a month ago. Since he is 1 year old, he is smart and maybe he is still having problems adjusting to a new environment emotionally and doesn't feel secure. I wonder if you can get some information on what the previous owner fed (and didn't feed Coco). He may be rebelling against your new food because they gave him much different food and that was familiar, yours is not? Also, did he spend a lot of time in a cage? He is being re-initiated into a new lifestyle and sounds like he is having a bit of a problem easing into it. Put yourself in his place. New home. New owner. New food. New bed. New surroundings. He may be a bit depressed and will have to have time to adjust. My schnauzer just sat in front of us staring for a few weeks when we got her (at 4 months old). It broke my heart, but my friends advised that she was taken from her litter-mates, and all the things she knew, and she didn't have the trust in us yet. (I give my schnauzer only the highest rated food to prevent diarrhea and tummy problems which schnauzers are prone to. I walk her every day for 15-45 minutes depending on weather, and at 3 1/2 years old she still acts "odd" at times" She is a "SCHNAUZER"...bright, and sometimes odd.) I am assuming you took him to the vet to be sure he has no health issues? If so, love him and tend to his needs as days go on. DON'T spoil him with things that are not good for him just because you feel guilty. He will make a marvelous recovery in a few more weeks (now that spring is here and he can walk outside with you!)
