miniature schnauzer throwing up - what's wrong?

Our 5 yr old schnauzer just started throwing up after each feeding - this has been going on for about 5 days now - she appears fine and drinks water, but cannot keep her food down.

My 11 yo mini schnauzer has been throwing up her food about every three days. Is it possible she has an obstruction in her stomach/bowel? Yes, she’s been to the vet and can find nothing wrong.

So glad you took her to the vet.. usually when our beloved dogs throw up , it is recommended that the food should be cooked fresh Chicken & Rice.. What tinned food do you give ?.. I give my boys.. Nature-diet.. Chicken with Vegetables & Rice.. It is all natural with no additives, no colouring, and most of all It is Gluten Free, which can upset some dogs.. All my dogs past and present have been on this food & my boys have never had upset tummies, never been sick..also they never have the " Runs " nor are constipated.. I've always fed them this..
It comes in a plastic container of 390 grams, which I divide between the two adults... Benji has the Junior one divided into three & both have meal mixed in with their Nature-diet.. they love it.. maybe the tinned doesn't agree with your dog, and the Gluten is making your dog throw up.. Some dogs cannot take the Gluten content.... please keep us posted..and hope improvements continue..

Schanuzer throwing up

Thanks everyone for your input! I took her to the vet today and she took xrays but could not find any blockage, etc.
She put her on Science Diet ID and some anti-inflammatory meds to give her prior to her eating the canned food. She said to try for a few days and is calling me to check in on her.
She actually has gained weight since her last checkup and is very lively and happy acting - just not tolerating her food.
She said she could just have a little gastrointestinal inflammation going on as dogs can get that like humans. I will keep you posted on her outcome - thanks so much!

hello carol, get your schnauzer in to be checked, don"t play around with this, there is something wrong if she has throwed up for 5 days, is she drinking alot of water?, let us know how she is doing and whats wrong , thx joann

Throwing Up

It might be an idea to take him/her to the vet just to make sure that there isn't any infection or anything.

To a Vet Immediately

The more she throws up the more upset and dehydrated she will become.
Take her to the vet. and he will give her something
to stop her being sick, as there must be a reason why.. And your Vet will know after examining her
She could rupture her Insides if she goes on throwing up, with no treatment.
