Is she a Mini Schnauzer or not?

I recently got a female mini schnauzer, or so I think. She is 7 weeks old but has very short hair with a few longer hairs growing in.
I have had a mini schnauzer before and at 7 weeks old the hair length was much longer than hers. I am worried that perhaps another male had gotten to the female without the owner,s knowledge?

Mini Schanuzer

I have an AKC Registered Miniature Schnauzer that resembled your when she was born. Her mother had the straight traditional coat. She is also a liver pepper parti which is what your looks like. I was curious at first but I have all of the required documentation.

NOT a Schnauzer.. No Way..
by: Michele

I forgot to ask you.. is your puppy registered at the Kennel Club as a Miniature Schnauzer..and have you Papers with your puppy.. Breeders usually register a Litter.. if this is so, then this Breeder is in for a hefty fine, as you can report her to the Kennel Club.. No way can her bitch mate with another pedigree Mini Schnauzer, because as she has had a mongrel pup or puppies.. there is a chance that her next litter may possibly produce other mongrel puppies.. I am not a breeder, if I was there is No Way I'd want my Stud Dog covering that bitch.. but if you love your puppy, which I am sure you do.. Keep Her...

I would say she is NOT a schnauzer. Like the others said get your money back but if you love her...keep her!!! She is adorable and would most likely bring lots of fun and love to you for years to come!

Not a Schnauzer
by: Michele

I do agree with that, too .. if the Breeder sold you your puppy as a mini- schnauzer, then you MUST ask for your money back as she is totally out of order and has taken advantage of you probably because she knows that you don't really know what an 8 week schnauzer pup looks like.. you can report her to the Kennel Club.. as she is taking your money for something that has been advertised wrongly..and it gives the Genuine Schnauzer Breeders a bad name knowing there is someone out there falsifying this wonderful breed.. As I previously said if you don't mind her not being a Schnauzer .. enjoy her..and have many years of fun with her..

I agree

I agree totally with the previous comment NO WAY is that a schnauzer! I would demand my money back! When you purchase a dog, you have certain expectations for that breed in relation to temperment, size, tendencies etc. Breeders need to ensure and back the puppies they sell and not take advantage of people! Anyone (esp. the breeder) can see this is not a schnauzer!

I'd keep her if she is fitting in with your family and you love her no matter what breed she is BUT I'd definatly get my money back!!!!

A mini schnauzer????
by: Michele

Definitely NOT she looks more like a Jack Russell Terrier with the head of a Staffordshire Bull Terrier.. this can happen, unfortunately, if another dog mated your baby when she was.. In Season. I have heard of some puppies being true schnauzers when born and others in the litter being of a mixed breed... I will post in Your Stories of what a mini should look like at the age of 8 weeks, then you can go see .. their hair should not be short nor should they be white and tan.. but if you love her and don't mind her not being a Schnauzer I'm sure that she will give you many hours of pleasure..
