is it normal for the schnauzer to change colors?

by lynell

My puppy seems to be changing colors. She is salt & pepper but now she has these large white spots on her back. Is this normal for the schnauzers to change colors?

My oldest mini who is 6 years old started out salt and pepper and is now silver. He was once very very dark in his peppered areas :)

I think it's normal. I have a black and silver schnauzer. When he was a puppy, he was jet black and now he is lightening up on he back. He almost looks salt and pepper on his back now.

If other things start happening like hot spots or rashes, take them to the vet.

Good luck! :-)
