how do you keep a schnauzer's feet white?

by Linda

Have Your Say: I have a S&P female who loves to dig in my garden. Unfortunately I use red cedar mulch and now her feet and chin (which were once white) are brownish red. Is there any tips on how to keep the white white?

No white bits

I suggest you use another mulch other than the one you are using.. or go to your pet shop and buy some Shampoo for White Dogs.. as there is usually a picture of either e White Samoyed or a West Highland Terrier on the bottle.. When my Benji and Rebel get brown feet and beards I use this Shampoo and it's surprising how white it leaves their beards and feet.. but I don't let them get that dirty even though he, and Rebel love digging.. I've bought a plastic paddling pool which I fill with sand and now they would rather get in that and dig because I bury their toys under the sand.. and the sand being clean their white bits stay white...

NOTE FROM LINDA AND MAX:
The sand pit is an excellent idea
