I wouldn't keep a Schnauzer outside. They love being with their owners plus the tend to get hot very easy (especially in warm climates). They are really better suited to have some play time outside but to live in doors with the rest of the family. They don't shed like many dogs (so fur doesn't get all over the furniture or clothes). If you keep them clean they are great indoors.
