Standard Schnauzer Demanding Attention - Help!!!

by Raquel
(Maine)

Bruschi!!

Bruschi!!

My 9 month old Standard Schnauzer will do anything to get my attention, including misbehaving.
He will sometimes grab my boots, towels, socks or he will jump up on the living room chair and bite and chew at it in an attempt to get my attention...should I just completely ignore it(and hope he doesn't persist and learn that he can chew anything he wants)or should I tell him NO and stop him quickly and then ignore him even if he still persists in doing it repeatedly after that????
I've tried different ways to get him to stop. He seems to only do this when I am busy or can't pay enough attention to him. He gets bored very easily and can't seem to occupy himself (even though he has toys and is getting regular excercise)without doing something that gets him in trouble)
Please help!!
Thanks, Raquel
