skin issues- black scab on schnauzer

Hi

My Minature Schnauzer has a black scab like dark marks all over his chest. I was brushing him and realized that if I rubbed the marks they tended to peel away. I going to take him to the vet tomorrow but I am looking for any feedback on what this might be. Please help!!!
