Schnauzer Molly Started Snapping

My 4 year old miniature schnauzer, Molly, has been snapping at children lately (in the last week or so). I have two rambunctious boys (ages 9 and 13) that Molly has been raised with. My question is, why the sudden "snippy" behavior?

One of the victims was my 13 year old...broke the skin in two places on his nose...the others were just snaps with a snarl. All of the children were in the vicinity of her head and face when the events happened.

She is terrified of thunder and 2 of the snaps (the worst) happened while it was thundering.

Any thoughts? Is she sick? Should I think about getting rid of her?? (No, please not that one.) She is a very loving dog normally.
