Schnauzer is too excited on walks!!!!

My gorgeous miniature schnauzer gets so excited when we go for a walk ... she is constantly pulling on the lead and then gets into a frenzy when she sees another dog at a gate as we walk past!
What can I do?
Her name is Katy and she is just over a year and a half.
