How long is it normal for a dog to miss their previous owner???

My aunt has about 3 inside dogs. I guess it's a handful for her because she's giving me her boy Miniature Schnauzer, Bo. I know he must love them cause he has lots of people there to love (my aunt, uncle, and two little cousins)as well as dogs. Anyways, how long do you think it'll take him to get used to everything and and to learn to love me instead of his previous owners?
