Biting schnauzer in bath

On 11/22/11 I put my mini schnauzer in the tub for a bath (which I have done many times)every thing was good until I got to his front paws and chest. Then with no warning he turned around and bit me! He really tore into my arm.
This has never happened before and it really bothers me. Any help/information will be great.
