Annie the Itchy Schnauzer

by Heather
(Beaverton, OR)

Some Back Story:

I have a 6 year old mini schnauzer that we found abandoned in a park when she was 7-8 months old. We took her to the vet where we found out she had a severe double ear infection along with vaginitis and just being incredibly dirty and matted.
ANYWAYS we take her to get groomed every 2 months or so and she gets de-flead every month.

The Problem:
About 2-3 years ago she started itching and she just wont stop-it's so annoying and I'm sure it's unbearable for her. We've taken her to several vets and first they said it's flea allergies, then it was food allergies I don't know what else to do. We have....

*Changed flea medication
*Changed the food to the good, EXPENSIVE stuff with no grains.
* Used conditioner & lotion
*Given her allergy medicine
She just won't stop and now she's got scabs on her back- is this normal for schnauzers?
What can I do to stop it? Also she stinks even right after she gets groomed she smells-does this have anything to do with her itching??
